The journar Science publiques a new discovery: the animals in the oceans have been getting bigger since the Cambrian period and it is not by chance.
In the past 542 milion yeras the marine animals have gone up by a factor of 150. There is a rule of increasing body and it is not made by chance, it has a sense in the evolution.

Measured by volume, today smallest animal in the sea is less 10 times smaller than his Cambrian counterpart. It's is a musclues. But at the same time the blue whale is more than 100.000 times bigger than his  Cambrian counterpart. Cope is the idea that natural selection has made that animals increase gradually their size.

The 19th-Century palontologists already notice that the ancient ancestors used to be smaller. However it is not the same across the animal kingdom. For example most dinosaurs were bigger than their evolutions in the actually like the birds who need fligth so they can't be very big.

Dr Noel Heim, from Stanford University in California, has had working 50 high school students over the last five years to scour the scientific record for body size data. Finally the team could have information about over 60% of all animal genere that ever have lived. The conclusion was that  there is a tendency towards increasing size.

But they can comprove that the families of animals that were larger diversifying and expanding more times. So the oceans gradually built up a great variety of animals increasingly large.

To know if all that is the evolution or is only chance the team put all the information in a computer and thanks to a programe they colud see how all species have colud develop. Each species could die out, stay the same, or get bigger or smaller. Scientifics programed the computer some times to let animals develop without any requirement and some times they put requiremets like as more big an animal is the less possibilityes he has to live.

The reaseachers cannot be sure but they think that latge species took advantage of be able to burrow better, eat larger prey or rum faster.

Dr Michael Berenbrink, an evolutionary physiologist at the University of Liverpool, thinks that the team have grat data set but the information should be interpreted carefully because the size is not only a proces of evolution. There are some important facts in the story of the evolution that makes increased the large of animals. For example one is when mamels returned to the water.

Dr Heim are agree with that but he also thinks that the huge diversity of other lifes, like the fish, mollusc or invertebrates, continued the trajectory of expanding size.

I have choose this article because, how I said in the last new, I like to know about differents things and biology is one of my favorites. I think that I have talk more times about the sea and the true is that I love the sea and all that have relation with it.
I'm interested in oceans because I think that they are an important part of the Earth life, although some don't know yet. The oceans move a lot of water and they be home to a lot of different species.
Apart to be very important in the world, I think that what interested me more of the oceans are the things that we already can discover there. The oceans are already a mystery for us in some aspects and the pity is that we are killing them before discover.

Astronomers have found winds blasted out by the giant black holes at the center of galaxies that because of their strong, they can stunt the birth of new stars. They have can measured the strength of this winds focusing their telescopes in a black hole as big as billion Sun.

The observations were carried out by an international team of astronomers using the telescopes from the European Space Agency and from Nasa. They have also seen that this winds blow outwards in every direction. The team tried to show how black holes can impede the evolution of the galaxy and the appearance of new stars.

Fiona Harrison, a professor of the California Institute of Technology said that they knew that black holes can feed on matter and produce winds.

The astronomers used the telescopes simultaneously to recorder differents wavelengths of light from black holes tow billion light-years away. It shines with many types of light, so it is a quasar

One of the telescopes had already detected winds blowing to the earth from this black hole. Astronomers detected it because the iron atoms that are caused by the winds, interfered in a characteristic way when they block X-rays. But when they added high-energy, the astronomers could notice a different way to act of the iron atoms. This means that the wind rushes out in an spherical blast

Professor Harrison said that thanks to know the speed, shape and size of the winds they can now about the powerful they have. And this powerful is amazing: ten times tha mass of the Sun is blow out every year and a trillion times more energy than our star emits.

All those quantities of energy and the winds have some impacts in the galaxy. The same take place with all supermassive black holes, like Sagittarius A in the center of our Milky Way.

The study let us know that the quasar winds contribute to mass loss in the galaxy driving out the gas wich is fuel for the stars formation. And the study provides a new view of the possible evolution that the center black holes have with their host galaxies.

Personally I have found this new very interesting because I like very much the astronomy and all kind of topics that have relation with galaxies. I like have knledges about differents things like biology, technology, medicine..., and maybe astronomy is one that attracs me more.
I use to watch documentaries on TV and every time astronomers find new galaxies, stars, planets... But I think that what most interested me about astronomy is not what scientists discover, what they don't know yet.
Always, since the first men on the erth, they have tried to find the answers to the universe and there are a lot of different theories. But the true is that nowadays nobody knows and nobody understand the univers and the things that can be in there.

The people who are living in the community of Roka, in Cambodia, are living one of the biggest problems that has been become a real nightmare in the medicine world. The World Health Organisation wants to stamp out with a new politics for the one-use syringes.

In all region families are tring to cope with the frightening mas infection of HIV. Babies, schoolchildren and even the 82-years-old of the local Busshis temple have tasted positive in the infecttion of the HIV. All that only can be explain because of one common factor that links all of them: all of theme have recived injections from a fale dotor who re-using the syringes.

In this way the virus would have been pass on patient to patient without no relationship between them.  There are furthere rises expected with new tests are carried out. But the virus of HIV is ot the only problem when syrings are reusing more than one time. They can transmit Hepatitis B and C, too, and others diseases.

The WHO's hope to designed what is calle "auto-disable syringes" wich it's breaks when has been given an injection. But for people from Roka all that is too late, they have already been infected.

Tola, a women who has been infected with the virus are to sad because she unwittingly passed the virus through her breast milk to his daugther. In his family, for example, the outbreak has affected 19 relations.
Chay Yao, the family matriach, are absolutely anger. He feels pity when he thinks in the future of all the children that has been infected.

A local chief, Sokhaa Vech sais he saw the unlicensed medic visiting some families and how he used only one syringe to put all the injections. A lot of families that now are infected tooke on his treatment because it was more cheaper than the state ones and they can pay with rice.

So in Roka all that has developed into a national helth crisis. Since the crisi started tha unlicensed medic, Chrin, has been in custody and he has charges including murder.

Marc Koska, the British inventor of one syringe that aonly can be use one time, argue that the medicine world should stop to use the tradittional syringes because they cause a lot of problemes, mostly in countries where people don't know all about the risk of medicine.

In fact this effective syringe is used by the immunisation programmes, but they are less than 10% of the 16 billions injections given every year. So the challenge is to persuade the manufactures and governments to work with the latest syringe that as well as they cost the same that the normal ones.

I think that all of that is not a new problem in our world. There are a lot of countries that have to live similar medical crisis every year.  But we don't know about it because nobody informs us. We only know about our problems and the problems in the coutries near us, problemes from develope countries.
One example has take place last year, I'm talking about Ebola. Ebola started in Africa, but we only knew about it when the virus infectes people from our countries and it came here. Then we lived some days that everybody talks about ebola, about create an injection, about the security measures... but when we managed to solve the trhee or four cases tha we had, suddenly we forget Ebola. An Ebola continues killing people in Africa.

So I mean that this kind of news should't surprise us and instead of that we would try to remedy definitely.

The Imitation Game

Yesterday I went to the cinema to watch The Imitation Game. I went with my friends I we enjoyed very match the film.

The Imitation Game is a film wich tells the story about an invisible hero from the II world war. The main character is Alan Turing, the best mathematic and descipher riddles in Ingland and probably in the world. Alan Turing and his team should to figure out "Enigma", the machine with the Nazi Germany sended their missatges and at the moment nobody colud decipher. Thanks to that, they may win the war.

At first all seems an impossible task because Enigma has more than a trillion of possible combinations and it changes every day. But Alan Turing has an inovattiona idea: what if only an other machine can beat a machine? So Alan started the invention of a intelligent machine that can think faster than an human.

The film is narrated by Alan Turing years after the war ends and the film it's a continius flashback to the years of war and when Alan was only an outcast boy at school.
It's explains how Alan and her team could make the machine works and how the British government intelligence hide all the information in case there were another war in a future.

A lot of times in the film you ask yourself: "what I would do if I were in that situation?" Because in some parts they must sacrifcated a lot of lives and things for another target. For example: whe finally they can understand the Nazi messages they know all the attacks, but at the same time they can't do anything because if Nazis learn that their code had been decoded, they would change it again. So Alan and her team must let die a lot of people in exchange for take part in few times to can win the war. Finally they get it.

As all geniuses, Alan Turing enden killing herself at the age of 47 yeras old.

Afte watch the film you think that the last tow years of war were known by few people that can make the war change. This secret, the secret as war could be won, was guarded for fifty years.

I think that film is amazing. I enjoyed it very much and it was very entertaining and fun. At the end, when you think it is a real story, you get caught. Thanks Alan machine the war ended and nobody known that! The Imitation Game explains the story of another war hero.

I also think the story is good set in the 40s, when the war take place. The characters, dialogues, costumes and places are all very well and make the film more real and beliavale. The mai character, Benedict Cumberbatch, plays very well his role of a genius of mathematics that don't understand the real world very well.

The film has succeeded a lot of nomitations in importants awards like Oscars in sections like best director, best actor and actress, best film, best screenplay or the best music. All of that very important prizes. I hope the film can take some of them!
